Influencing change |
Monitoring the development of Sri Lanka’s National Involuntary Resettlement Policy (NIRP)
Client: Overseas Development Institute
Duration: January 2007 to December 2008
This assignment, led by members of the Poverty Assessment and Knowledge Management (PAM) team, monitored CEPA’s influence on the NIRP through the activities being carried out under the monitoring of the Southern Transport Development Project. It helped the Poverty Impact Monitoring (PIM) team to organise its policy influence activity and pull in additional knowledge, as was done via the roundtable on policy influence held in September and facilitated the development of good practice notes.

The Resource Centre |
In keeping with our objective to improve knowledge management and policy dialogue on poverty, CEPA hosts a Resource Centre which contains literature and data on poverty in Sri Lanka. The Resource Centre is open to researchers, academics, undergraduates and other interested individuals to use for free. There are around 2,700 monographs and reports covering the various topics that can be browsed through the online catalogue that can run searches by author, title and keywords. The library collection includes 45 of CEPAs published works and documents in soft form can be downloaded from the CEPA site. A collection of newspaper and journal articles relevant to poverty in Sri Lanka are also available
The Inter-Library Loan service (ILL) provides CEPA researchers with access to materials not available with the CEPA library. The library provides an e-alert service to inform staff about new acquisitions and new journal articles.
CEPA is also a part of the Civil Society Network on Information Sharing (CSNIS) which aims to share current and relevant publications and articles with members and users. The members are mainly development organisations. Visit www.csnis.lk for more information.
